A
dual commitment to ecologically sound design that promotes biodiversity
and preservation of historic integrity underlies every project designed
by Selina. An accomplished draftsman and experienced in historic landscape
research, Selina’s designs complement and highlight the natural
setting with a focus on time and change. Woven into the fabric of Selina’s
designs are the artifacts of memory and place – symbolic plants,
aged stone, old forms made new.
Since 1997, Selina has executed master plans for numerous historic and
environmentally significant estates from Connecticut to Vermont that have
included several unusual swimming pools and waterfall designs built in
an ancient, natural marble quarry, natural ponds, restorations of woodland,
meadows and ponds, extensive masonry designs and restoration, designs
and installations of native plantings, walled gardens, kitchen gardens,
trail systems incorporating state-of-the-art raised paths as well as,
conceptual architecture for both dwellings, outbuildings and pool houses. |
