Master
planning, design, and construction coordination for a weekend retreat
in Salisbury, Connecticut. On the western shore of Twin Lakes sits the
original Scoville family boathouse – a turn-of-the century gem.
A new owner purchased the boathouse and an unremarkable late 70’s
contemporary with an eye toward connecting the two and creating a coherent
relationship between the two structures. The master plan, incorporating
field stone walls, antique bluestone terraces, naturalistic gardens, woodland
paths and pools of light now link the two structures and offer a verdant
oasis in the woodland descending to the waters edge. |
